Free Fire has built one of the most aggressive collaboration rosters in mobile gaming. Since 2020, Garena has brought in football legends, K-pop groups, iconic anime, Netflix originals, racing brands, and video game legends. Some collabs reshaped the entire game world. Others were limited-time cosmetic drops and nothing more. This is the full record.
#2020: Where It All Started
Cristiano Ronaldo x Free Fire (December 2020)
The one that proved Free Fire could pull global names. Garena signed Cristiano Ronaldo as a brand ambassador and built an entirely new permanent character around him. Chrono wears a futuristic blue-and-silver suit and came with the "Time Turner" ability that creates a force field blocking 600 damage. The Operation Chrono event ran December 2020 and included exclusive CR7 bundle outfits, weapon skins, and a reworked Bermuda map section. Chrono remains a permanent character in the roster to this day.
Key cosmetics: Chrono character, CR7 themed bundle, Operation Chrono weapon skins.
#2021: Anime and Motorsport

The "Hero Trial" event ran January 10 onward and introduced Saitama and Genos costumes, the Megapunch M1887 and M4A1 weapon skins, Gloo Wall skins, and a Tatsumaki-themed backpack. The first video game crossover. The "Beating Stars" event brought Ryu and Chun-Li costumes into Free Fire alongside the SF Shiba pet skin, a Pan Street Fighter skin, and Ryu Backpack. Ran July 2021. Not the flashiest execution, but the crossover between two completely different game styles gave it novelty points.
Key cosmetics: Ryu Bundle, Chun-Li Bundle, SF Shiba Pet Skin, Pan Street Fighter.
McLaren Racing x Free Fire (August. September 2021)
The standout brand collab of 2021. "Ace the Field" was Free Fire's partnership with McLaren Racing and it delivered a full vehicle skin inspired by McLaren's P1 hypercar: the MCL-FF car skin. The event also included driver-inspired outfits and a themed weapon set. For a mobile game, getting McLaren to put their IP into a battle royale was legitimately impressive. The car skin itself looked sharp.
Key cosmetics: MCL-FF Vehicle Skin, McLaren driver-inspired bundle, themed weapon skins.
#2022: The Celebrity Season
Assassin's Creed x Free Fire (March 2022)
"The Creed of Fire" brought Assassin's Creed characters and aesthetics to the game. A collaboration theme song combining the signature music of both franchises was also released. Ran March 2022.

BTS x Free Fire (March. April 2022)

The event featured BTS member-inspired costume bundles, with designs drawn by the members themselves, lobby emotes, themed weapon skins, and exclusive music content. Justin Bieber x Free Fire (August 2022)

Free Fire's first collaboration of 2023 was a Capcom one. The DMC5 event ran February 10 to 26, introducing Dante and Vergil-inspired bundles, demon hunter-themed weapon skins, and Gloo Walls styled after the game's gothic aesthetic. A short crossover window, but the visual quality of the Dante bundle was solid.

Timed alongside Sony's animated film, this Marvel crossover ran June 1 to 18. Players could collect Spider-Verse themed parachutes, a Spider-Verse Moony skin, backpack, and a Spider-Sense emote. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba x Free Fire (September. October 2023)
The biggest anime collab of 2023, timed with Booyah Day. The event ran September 26 to October 25 and introduced the most recognizable Demon Slayer characters. Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke all got fully realized bundles. Tengen Uzui's bundle was the grand prize. The Sakonji Mask and Tanjiro Backpack were among the accessory rewards. Demon Slayer's visual style translated cleanly into Free Fire's art direction.

#2024: Football Anime Enters the Arena
Blue Lock x Free Fire (November. December 2024)
Garena leaned into the football anime wave and brought Blue Lock into the game. The event ran November 10 to December 8 and featured Isagi Yoichi and Nagi Seishiro as the two headlining bundles. Isagi's Team Z and Nagi's Team V outfits replicated the anime's iconic jersey designs faithfully. Free login rewards included weapon skins, vehicle skins, avatars, and a special Blue Lock banner. #2025: The Biggest Anime Year Yet
Naruto Shippuden x Free Fire, Chapter 1 (January, February 2025)
Garena called this its biggest anime IP collaboration ever, and the production justified the claim. The event ran January 10 to February 8. Bermuda's Rim Nam Village was fully rebuilt as the Hidden Leaf Village, with Hokage Rock, Ichiraku Ramen, and Naruto's House all accessible in-game. The Nine Tails Strikes event let players encounter Kurama mid-match. Free Fire's first-ever Super Emote (the Gamabunta Summoning) debuted here. The Jiraiya Bundle was the grand prize, earnable free through missions. Paid bundles covered Naruto (Sage Mode and Kurama Link Mode multi-look changer), Sasuke, Kakashi, and Sakura. The Doll outfit, Pink Guards Costumes, and the Green Tracksuit were the headline cosmetics. Naruto Shippuden x Free Fire, Chapter 2: Ninja War (July, August 2025)

Hidden Leaf Village was redesigned again, now bearing the aftermath of Pain's Planetary Devastation attack. Six Akatsuki Keepsakes appeared as in-match collectibles with abilities based on Pain, Konan, Deidara, Itachi, Kisame, and Hidan. The Itachi Bundle introduced Free Fire's first-ever reverse-color transformation effect. Madara, Obito, Minato, and Pain Tendo bundles all launched with blinking animations. The Orochimaru Bundle was the free grand prize. An in-person esports event, the Free Fire All Stars: Ninja Clash, ran in Bangkok with a USD 100,000 prize pool alongside the collab.

Lighter in scope compared to the Naruto collabs but cleanly executed for fans of the original series.
Key cosmetics: WarGreymon T-shirt, Gaia Force Grenade Skin, Agumon Avatar, Crest Symbol Banner.
#2026: Cursed Energy Enters Free Fire
Jujutsu Kaisen x Free Fire (January. February 2026)
The most recent collaboration as of this writing, and one of the most ambitious executions in the game's history. "Jujutsu Awakening" ran January 14 to February 13. Five characters got fully realized bundles: Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Satoru Gojo, and Ryomen Sukuna (available as two separate bundles). Every bundle included original anime voiceovers and cinematic animations.
The gameplay changes went deeper than any previous collab. A Cursed Energy collecting system let players gain power by defeating enemies or looting it off the ground. Cursed Energy could upgrade weapons or unlock Jujutsu techniques: Itadori's Divergent Fist, Gojo's Unlimited Void and Hollow Purple, Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine, and Ember Insects. Free Fire's version of Jujutsu High School replaced a section of Bermuda as the peak reskin. Two exclusive music tracks by composer Yoshimasa Terui were commissioned specifically for the event.
The Yuji Itadori Bundle was the free grand prize, redeemable through mission progression. Paid items included the Gojo Bundle, both Sukuna variants, the Groza - Yuji Itadori weapon skin with animated Cursed Energy effects, a JJK-themed Gloo Wall, and a themed vehicle skin.

#Which Collabs Were Actually Worth It?
The Naruto collabs set a new benchmark for how deep a collab can go. Two full chapters, genuine map rebuilds, new game modes, original music. The JJK collab matched that ambition. Both are the standard everything else gets measured against.
Demon Slayer in 2023 had the best bundle quality-to-variety ratio. Five distinct characters, all faithfully rendered. If you own one of those, it ages well.
The BTS collab was marketing-first, execution-second. The bundles were fine but the real driver was the in-game show concept, which was novel for its time.
McLaren was the best brand collab by a distance. A vehicle skin built around a real hypercar design beats a generic branded outfit every time.
Blue Lock and Digimon were shorter events with smaller budgets. The Isagi and Nagi bundles in Blue Lock were clean, but the scope was limited. Digimon felt like a nostalgia play more than a content drop.

#Frequently Asked Questions
What is the most popular Free Fire collaboration of all time? Naruto Shippuden is the most expansive collaboration in Free Fire history, spanning two full chapters in 2025 with complete map rebuilds, new game mechanics, and over a dozen character bundles. Jujutsu Kaisen in early 2026 rivals it in ambition.
Which Free Fire collaborations gave free bundles? Several collabs included free grand prizes through mission progression: Jiraiya Bundle (Naruto Ch.1), Yuji Itadori Bundle (Jujutsu Kaisen), Orochimaru Bundle (Naruto Ch.2). The Squid Game event also gave The Doll outfit as a free reward through the Cash Bank system.
Did Free Fire ever collab with Dragon Ball or One Piece? As of early 2026, Free Fire has not done a Dragon Ball or One Piece collaboration, despite persistent community requests and rumors. These remain among the most-requested collabs that have not materialized.
How long do Free Fire collaboration events last? Most collabs run 3 to 4 weeks. Naruto Chapter 2 was an exception at 5 weeks (July 30 to August 31). Digimon Adventure was shorter at just two weeks (November 17 to 30).
Are collaboration skins available permanently? No. All collaboration cosmetics in Free Fire are time-limited. Once an event ends, the skins move out of the active shop. Occasionally Garena runs reruns, but there is no guarantee. The only permanent exception is the Chrono character from the Cristiano Ronaldo partnership, which remains a permanent roster character.
