Free Fire is a fast-paced battle royale where 50 players drop onto an island, scavenge for weapons, and fight to be the last one standing. Here's everything you need to know.
Hour 1-2: Basic Controls
Movement
- Left joystick, move your character
- Right side, aim and look around
- Jump button, vault over obstacles
- Prone button, lie flat to hide or steady aim
- Sprint, auto-sprint is enabled by default
Shooting
- Fire button, tap to shoot
- Scope button, aim down sights for better accuracy
- Crouch + shoot, reduces recoil significantly

What to Pick Up (Priority Order)
- Weapon, any weapon is better than no weapon
- Armor (vest + helmet), reduces damage taken
- Medkits and EP items, sustain between fights
- Gloo walls, essential for cover
- Ammo, match your weapon types
- Attachments, improve weapon performance
Weapon Types
- AR (Assault Rifle), versatile, good at all ranges
- SMG, fast fire rate, great close range
- Shotgun, devastating up close, useless at range
- Sniper, long range, high skill ceiling
- Pistol, early game only, swap ASAP
Hour 5-6: Survival Mechanics
The Safe Zone
- The play area shrinks over time
- Being outside the zone deals increasing damage
- Always watch the minimap for zone timing
- Start rotating early, don't wait until the zone moves
Gloo Walls
- Most important utility item in Free Fire
- Deploy for instant cover in open fights
- Practice placing walls while moving
- You can build walls to climb buildings
Hour 7-8: Combat Fundamentals
Engagement Tips
- Don't shoot at everything you see, sometimes it's better to stay hidden
- Use cover, never stand in the open
- Headshots deal 2x damage, aim high
- Crouch while shooting for better accuracy
Movement in Fights
- Strafe left and right while shooting
- Jump shots can dodge headshots
- Gloo wall > shoot > gloo wall is the basic fight rhythm
Hour 9-10: Getting Better
- Play Clash Squad to practice combat without long queue times
- Watch kill cams to learn what got you killed
- Pick 2-3 weapons and master their recoil
- Learn one landing spot thoroughly before expanding
- Add skilled players as friends and learn from them
