Why Rotation Matters
Rotation is the single most important skill for consistently ranking up. You can have perfect aim, but dying to the zone or getting caught rotating loses games.
Phase-by-Phase Rotation Guide
Phase 1: Early Game (0:00 - 3:00)
- Priority: Loot quickly and establish position
- Vehicle: Secure a vehicle IMMEDIATELY after landing
- Watch: Note where other teams drop from the plane path
- Move: Start heading toward zone center by 2:30
Phase 2: Mid Game (3:00 - 8:00)
- Priority: Find a defensible position inside the safe zone
- Ideal spots: Buildings with multiple exits, elevated terrain, tree clusters
- Avoid: Open fields, bridges, narrow passages
- Loot: Only loot air drops if they're in your rotation path
Phase 3: Late Game (8:00 - 12:00)
- Priority: Position for final circles
- Edge play: Stay on the side of the zone closest to the next zone
- Sound: Listen for gunfire to identify enemy positions
- Patience: Don't shoot unless you have to, revealing position is costly
Phase 4: End Game (12:00+)
- Priority: Win or top 3
- Gloo walls: Save 3-4 walls for the final fight
- High ground: Always take the higher position
- Third party: Let others fight, then engage the survivor
Advanced Techniques
Edge Rotation
Instead of running to zone center, follow the edge of the safe zone. This means:
- Enemies can only come from one direction (inward)
- You sweep the edge clean as you move
- Less chance of getting surrounded
Compound Holding
When you find a good compound:
- Close all doors (makes enemies think it's unlooted)
- Position at a window with a clear sightline
- Place gloo walls at entry points
- Listen for footsteps and vehicle sounds
Vehicle Rotation Timing
- Use vehicles for Phase 1-2 rotations (speed > stealth)
- Ditch vehicles by Phase 3 (noise draws attention)
- Park strategically, a vehicle can be mobile cover
Common Rotation Mistakes
- Looting too long, if you have AR + armor, you're ready to rotate
- Running straight lines, zigzag and use terrain cover
- Ignoring vehicle fuel, always check fuel before relying on a vehicle
- Fighting during rotation, avoid fights while moving between zones
- Rotating late, early rotation gives you position choice
Map-Specific Tips
Bermuda
- Central buildings (Factory, Peak) are strong mid-game holds
- Use terrain hills as natural cover
Kalahari
- Desert is open, vehicles are essential
- Cave systems provide strong late-game positions
Purgatory
- River crossings are kill zones, use bridges carefully
- Hills dominate the landscape, always take high ground
